Frequently Asked Questions

To invite your co-parent:

  1. Go to Settings in the app
  2. Tap Invite Co-Parent
  3. Enter their email address
  4. They'll receive an invitation to create an account and connect with you

Once they accept, you'll both have access to the shared calendar, messaging, and expense tracking.

CoHarmony supports flexible custody patterns from 1 to 8 weeks:

  1. Go to Schedule in the app
  2. Select your Pattern Length (1, 2, 3, 4, 6, or 8 weeks)
  3. Tap each day to assign custody to Dad, Mom, Both, or None
  4. Add Custom Override Days for holidays or special occasions that always go to a specific parent
  5. Tap Save Schedule to propose changes to your co-parent

Schedule changes require approval from both parents before taking effect.

To add a payment or expense:

  1. Go to the Payments tab
  2. Tap + Add
  3. Select the payment type: Child Support, Alimony, or Split
  4. Enter the description and amount
  5. For split expenses, use the slider to set your percentage (e.g., 50/50 or custom split)
  6. Set the due date and repeat frequency (Once, Weekly, Monthly, etc.)
  7. Tap Save Payment

Use the Summary button to view totals by status (Verified, Pending, Overdue) and the Verify button to confirm payments received.

Payment verification ensures both parents agree a payment was made:

  • When one parent marks a payment as paid, it shows as Pending Verification
  • The other parent can tap Verify to confirm they received the payment
  • Once verified, the payment status changes to Verified (green)
  • Payments past due date without verification show as Overdue (red)

This creates a clear audit trail for all financial transactions.

Custom Override Days are special dates that always override the normal custody pattern:

  • Use them for holidays (Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc.)
  • Birthdays or special family events
  • Any recurring date that should always go to a specific parent

To add one, go to Schedule ? scroll to Custom Override Days ? tap the + button. Set the date, assign to a parent, and optionally add a label like "Christmas Day".

When you make changes to the custody schedule:

  1. Your changes are saved as a proposal
  2. Your co-parent receives a notification about the proposed changes
  3. Proposed changes appear highlighted for easy review
  4. Your co-parent can Accept or Reject the proposal
  5. If accepted, the new schedule takes effect immediately
  6. You can Withdraw your proposal at any time before it's accepted

This ensures both parents agree to any schedule changes.
